Fluffy’s New Year’s Resolutions

January 1, 2020

Happy New Year! As we leave 2019 behind and move forward into 2020, many people are focusing on setting new personal goals for the coming year. As it turns out, your feline buddy may also have a few things on her agenda for next year. Read on as a local New Orleans, LA vet lists some things your kitty may strive for in 2020.

Eat Well

Kitties are fairly finicky little pets. Fluffy has been known to meow for food right meow, only to turn her cute nose up at what you offer. To be fair, there is a valid reason for your furry pal’s fussiness. In the wild, cats always eat their prey fresh, so they instinctively avoid anything that’s even a little off.

Charge My Catteries

It’s probably safe to say that many of our feline friends will sleep through the majority of 2020. Fluffy may try to sleep even more this year than she did in 2019. Help your drowsy pet make this goal by offering her lots of comfy beds and napping spots.

Put More Fur On the Human

Kitties have very pretty fur, and they thoughtfully try to share it with us as much as possible. Fluffy may try to ‘fur’ your clothes a little better this year.

Catch That Red Dot

Fluffy is absolutely adorable when she is chasing after that little red dot from a laser pointer. Your pet may never make this goal, but she’ll still enjoy trying. Hold a laser pointer for your kitty to pounce on. This will be entertaining for you both!

Supervise The Humans

Cats are very curious, and they like to keep a close eye on their humans. Your furry overlord may want to stick close by you this year. She may even follow you into the bathroom!

Perfect The Pounce

Our feline pals are actually very formidable hunters. Those skills take work, however. Fluffy may try to nail that complicated butt-wiggle/run/jump/pounce/roll/meow combination in 2020. Or, she may want to work on her sprinting times.

Finish Training The Human

Does your furry buddy have you wrapped around her paw? Cats often ‘train’ their humans to feed and pet them on command. Fluffy may very well work on your training this year!
